I want a design for a saree. Can anybody suggest some designs? Also, please suggest the kind of material, colors and quantity that I would need. The saree is a plain blue color saree.

1. Want to add a design to the saree using embroidery.
2. A saree (aka sari) is usually 6 yards of material (some are 9). The material can be silk, satin, cotton, chiffon, or a light brocade. I'm not sure whether you're talking about adding a design to the fabric you have using block printing or embroidery or whether you just want samples of traditional designs.

   You can just buy 6 yards of a nice border print material and wear wear over a saree top with a slip too. It truly is one size fits all.
