How do I remove candle wax on my favourite green silk blouse?

  1. A warm iron and a paper bag
  2. I hope this will work for you Place blotting paper over the wax and press with a hot iron. Remove the remaining smear with methylated spirits. All I could find was to remove it from clothing . Good luck.
  3. Melt wax like others have suggested. To get rid of the residue you need an organic solvent. Goo-gone works well (please test in inconspicuous area for color). Gently work in the Goo-gone while wax is melted. Rinse out with water that is as warm as the fabric can tolerate. Clean out the Goo-gone with a good detergent like woolite.
  4. Real silk? Well put it in the freezer, then you should be able to break off the excess. Make a layer (3) paper towels on the ironing board, lay the spot on top of the towels and make another stack of 2 or 3 on the top. With a warm, just warm iron press over the area to melt the wax out. Keep moving to a fresh clean spot ON the paper towels so you DO NOT re stain another spot. Move it two or three times. Check it out. Hopefully that will do it. Then wash it in woolite. I hope this works well for you.
Avoid paper towels with a design.
  5. Place a folded dry paper towel onto the fabric, place a piece of aluminum foil on top of the paper towel . Using a low heat iron apply slight pressure against the foil. The heat will melt the wax which will be absorbed into the paper towel. The foil protects the iron. I,ve done this to tablecloths, fabrics, carpet etc… Good luck!
You may find you have to increase the setting on the iron to actually melt the wax but start out on the lowest temp.
